Festival des Solidarités Internationales
Saturday 16 November 2019
Lille and associated towns of Lomme and Hellemmes - North of France
- The City of Lille is in charge of the financing, promotion and coordination of all activities taking place as part of the festival and is organising a few of them as well.
From the 16th to the 22nd of november, the Festival des Solidarités Internationales (Festival of International Solidarities) will take place in Lille with more than 30 events such as exhibitions, film screenings, lectures, debates, shows and concerts. Those events are made possible by a collective action of more than 80 organisations which aim is to show the population of the Lille area how international solidarity and local action can complement each other. The theme chosen for this year’s festival is “sustainable consumption, circular economy and reuse”. Thus, for a week long program of activities, the City of Lille and all of its partners will show the public how to decrease production of waste, how to shop and consume better and that there are solutions to tackle climate change at both scales, local and international.
